As you may know, I'm a big fan of the #SundaySupper movement created by Isabel of Family Foodie and try to participate as often as possible. With my hectic schedule, that's not as often as I might like, but, when I found out we were teaming up with LAND O LAKES® this week, I knew I had to make the time. We were asked to create Simple and Fresh Summer Recipes using one of their newest products Olive Oil & Sea Salt butter. As someone who loves butter, I could not wait to try it out. I knew that I wanted to come up with a recipe that highlighted what's different about this butter, the fact that it has a higher smoke point than traditional butter, so I decided to make butter burgers.
Ingredients
1 lb Grass fed ground beef
4 tbs LAND O LAKES® Butter with Olive Oil & Sea Salt
4 Hamburger buns
2 Fresh picked heirloom tomatoes, sliced
Salt and freshly cracked black pepper to taste
Instructions
Form beef into 4 patties and liberally season with salt and pepper. Melt 1 tbs butter over medium heat in a large skillet and toast 2 buns cut side down until golden brown, remove, remove to a platter and repeat with remaining buns. Once buns are toasted and set aside, add remaining butter to pan. Add burger patties and cook until desired level of doneness is reached, flipping once. Place one patty on each bun, top with fresh tomatoes, salt and pepper if needed. Serve immediately.
Serves 4

It's not even 6 am and my mouth is already watering! This burger looks delicious! Great pick for this week!
ReplyDeleteI've never used butter to pan fry burgers before but it sounds wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI usually grill burgers but now I have to try pan frying. Great option especially on a rainy day.
ReplyDeleteGrass-fed beef + heirloom tomatoes? Oh yeah!
ReplyDeleteBurgers fried in butter? Yes please!!!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for my garden tomatoes for this great burger!
ReplyDeleteYes, you have to have great tomatoes to stand up to a burger this good! I'm lucky my tomatoes are in so early this year after our mild spring =)
DeleteWhat a great idea! I bet these are some tasty burgers! Thank you for sharing during #Sundaysupper!
ReplyDeleteThe first thing that caught me eye was the texture of that burger! You can still see the individual pieces of meat. Is it the way it was grounded? I never would've thought to add butter to my burgers!!
ReplyDeleteI try to handle the meat as little as possible, so I basically grab a chunk off and put it in the pan and smash it with the spatula once, that's about it, it really stays nice and loose and delicious!
DeleteOh gosh, I love a good burger. One cooked in butter just takes it up a notch. Looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteNow, that's a great summer burger! Love it!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like one of those cases where the best ingredients for the simplest recipe is the best approach. Sounds great!
ReplyDeleteOh my, this looks amazing. I love a good hamburger!
ReplyDeleteThese burgers look so good. I kept seeing butter burgers come across twitter, and I had to know what a butter buger was. Um, yum! I am going to be trying this recipe. I hope you had a great #SundaySupper.
ReplyDeleteThe burger looks delicious. The buttered toasted bun adds so much flavor. Cannot wait to try it at home.
ReplyDeleteI grow my own tomatoes, stew them and add butter to create a luscious sauce for pasta's and pizza! We love butter in my household!
ReplyDeleteBurgers in butter! What a great idea!
